Antimicrobials

This is an image of various microorganisms.

Antimicrobials, such as sanitizers and disinfectants, kill or slow the spread of bacteria, viruses, spores, and fungi.  Antimicrobial use prevents diseases and infections from spreading onto surfaces and into products that may harm consumers.

Antimicrobial resistance occurs when microorganisms are cultivated in the presence of antimicrobials that previously would have inhibited growth. With a growing concern for antimicrobial resistance, efficacy testing is crucial in assuring that the product can effectively kill or inhibit growth of certain pathogenic microorganisms.

It is critical that antimicrobial products are tested for their claimed efficacy against pathogenic microorganisms.  Accugen’s expert team of microbiologists can develop a customizable testing protocol to meet specified antimicrobial testing requirements for efficacy. Accugen also provides research and development services to enhance produces and ensure their claimed efficacy.
